A specialist and passionate about Gender Equality and Social Inclusion, worked with various agencies, supporting programs aimed at ending poverty and facilitating humanitarian response from a gender perspective. Currently, Bertha is working with Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) at HQ in Seoul, South Korea. Previously, she has worked with: UNOPS at HQ in Denmark as Gender Mainstreaming Coordinator; Oxfam International (Malawi) as Women’s Rights Thematic Lead; UNFPA Malawi as GEWE National Program Professional; WFP Malawi as Gender Advisor; and Plan International (Malawi). She has also worked with local CSOs such as CHRR, and Society for the Advancement of Women. An award winner of the Pan Africa’s Most Influential Women in Business and Government by the CEO Global and Titans: Building Nations (2019). She was also recognized as a Global Goodwill Ambassador (Humanitarian) by GGA in 2019 and was appointed as a Senior Advisor for the Women’s Network of the Five Continents. She has served on a number of local and international boards with organizations leading in addressing poverty and social justice, women’s economic empowerment and child protection.
